This is a free golf driving tip that I have used myself with great effect. Like a lot of golf tips, it's simple, logical, and common sense, but let's face it, golf has an amazing ability to make us throw those things out of the window - that's why this tip was so helpful for me.
In my motivational book 'Transform Your Life in 21 Days!' I write a lot about the subconscious mind. We use our subconscious mind all the time, it's just that we don't realise it, and if we *do* realise it, we can then use our conscious mind to deliberately train our subconscious, and great achievements will follow.
We can, however, also use our conscious minds to wreck our subconscious abilities, and it's this point I want to use to help with your golf driving.
'Where does the car driving come into it?' I hear you ask.
Good question. Here's the answer...
I remember when I learnt to drive way back in 1985. I gripped the steering wheel as hard as I could, and felt overwhelmed by all the things I had to remember at the same time - position of hands on the wheel, depressing the clutch and changing gears, looking in the mirrors and using the indicators. How did everyone else make it look so easy?
My instructor sensed this, and reassured me that we were using a dual control car, so I would not be in any danger, and that I just needed to accept what he was telling me.
Gradually of course, the lessons seeped into my subconscious, I passed my test first time and have been happily driving ever since. When I'm driving now, I don't actively concentrate on those things which I learnt back then, my subconscious takes care of it for me. In fact if I *did* focus on one area, I'd probably find it strange, maybe feel myself tense up.
This is exactly the free golf driving tip you should be using. Once you have learnt the basics of how to swing a driver properly, and have hit successful drives, after that point, let your subconscious play the shot! It knows how to, and you standing at the tee telling yourself you need to hit the ball harder or straighter does not help! In fact it does the opposite, because that is your conscious mind interfering, and will most likely force you to tense up, or swing out of alignment.
When you come to a junction in your car, you don't tell yourself how to flick the indicator, your subconscious just does it. If you do the same thing with your golf driving, you'll get better results all the time!
I hope you enjoyed my tip.
