If you’re looking to download pc games online there are various ways of doing this. The first is via P2P networks. These are peer-to-peer sharing networks where users who are logged on to the network are able to share their files with everyone else on the same network. These networks were designed to allow users to share personal files but have however been used to sell copyright material such as movies, music and games. Some of the popular P2P sites like eDonkey and Napster have either been closed down or forced to legitimately abide by the copyright law. Sites like Limewire however was still operating at the time of this article.
The second alternative are paid to download game sites which are pretty much similar to the free p2p networks but charge a one time membership fee to access the network. The quality of the products on these networks are a lot better than the free p2p networks as all shared files are according to these companies free of viruses, trojans and spyware. These companies also provide 24 hour customer support and a money back guarantee. I personally haven’t tried any of these sites but I’ve heard that the selection and quality of games online are pretty good.
Finally there are the paid game sites where you pay almost the full retail price for each game download. Even the big boys like Amazon are slowly moving to digital downloads for movies and games. With the ever increasing bandwidths, the download time for large files will be decreased significantly resulting in the shift to digital downloads.
