I know that most golfers don't like to admit it, but more often then we like, we find ourselves left with these awkward shots. The type of shots that just seem to throw you off balance a little bit.

There are some ways to help you overcome these awkward shots so in this article I will be sharing with you instructions on how to swing a golf club for awkward shots.

First, when you have an awkward shot to make, try to picture the shot in your head before you setup. Picture you swing, the line your club will follow and envision the golf ball fly across the course.

Just before you set up, think about where your club head will need to hit in order for the golf ball to travel the greatest distance.

Take a few practice swings to help position your feet and determine your stance. You need to make sure that you can keep your balance during your golf swing. It is critical to keep yourself from swaying if you want to make that nice shot.

Find a comfortable position that will let your golf swing flow smoothly. You want your muscles and mind to both be relaxed. Make sure that you can keep your eyes focused on the golf ball through the duration of your golf swing.

Keeping your eyes on the golf ball will help your golf swing flow more smoothly and correctly. Also if you can keep your head from moving until your golf club head meets with the golf ball, then your golf swing will greatly improve.

Weather can also be a factor in making your golf shot difficult. If the wind is blowing then you should try to stand with your feet closer together during your golf swing.

Most people believe that if it is windy that they just need to hit the golf ball harder, however when it is windy it is more important that you focus on hitting the golf ball correctly.

Do you know how far apart should your feet be in the golf swing? Well the shorter the shot, the closer your feet should be together when you take your golf swing. On the close shots make sure that you hit the ball true to reduce the distance that it travels. Hitting the golf ball with all of your strength will just make it bounce away.

There you have it, some simple instructions for how to swing a golf club for awkward shots. Try out these easy tips the next time you are on the golf course and improve on how you take your golf swing.
