Converting your Photograph into Sketching Tutorial  

Hello & welcome to the tutorial!

In this tutorial we will see how to create a Pattern Lines on Photographs.

1)     Let’s start the tutorial by opening a File. I’ve opened following image.

2)     Now go ahead and make a copy of this layer and desaturate it. You can hit Control + Shift + U key to desaturate it.

3)     Now again make a Copy of the Desatureated Layer and Invert it. Hit Control + I to invert it.

4)     Now change the Color mode of the top most layer to Color Dodge.

5)     Don’t get surprised if you see the whole canvas as White.

6)     Make sure the top most Inverted layer is selected and apply a Gaussian Blue Filter. Filter à Blur à Gaussian Blur with following settings.

7)     Wow. This is very easy to convert your photographs into Sketch Effect in minutes.

8)     Go ahead and play with different settings to get more interesting results.

9)    I’ve copied the Inverted layer and apply the Gradient Overlay effect to it and changed the layer mode to Difference.
