Custom Text FX Tutorial
Custom FX Tutorial.
Hello & welcome to the tutorial!
In this tutorial we will see how to create a Custom Artwork using Tex and Fx in Photoshop.
1) Let’s get started. Start with a new file. RGB color mode, 800 x 600 and type in the Text in any color you want as shown in the following figure.
2) Type the text as shown in the following figure.
1) Now change the Text font to “Casper” and your canvas will look like following image. Make sure to adjust the font size accordingly.
2) Now apply following layer styles to the text layer “Wooden Frame”
Text after Drop Shadow Effect: -
Text after Inner Shadow Effect: -
Text after Outer Glow Effect: -
Text after Inner Glow Effect: -
Text after Bevel & Emboss Effect: -
Text after Satin Effect: -
Text after Color overlay Effect: -
Text after Gradient Overlay Effect: -
Text after Pattern Overlay Effect: -
3) Now your canvas will look like the following figure after applying the entire above mentioned layer FX.
4) Make sure your “Foreground Color” is set to #CF9144, and draw a rectangle as shown in the following figure.
5) Right click on the Rectangle shape layer and Rasterize it. Now your canvas will look like following figure.
6) Now apply the Drop shadow effect with the default settings and Pattern overlay with following settings.
7) Place the text layer on top of the rectangle layer. Now your canvas will look like following figure.
8) Make sure the rectangle layer is selected and select the Eraser tool with 20 Pixel brush and erase the four corners of the rectangle as shown in the following figure.
9) Wow. Looking nice... J
10) Now copy the text layer, rasterize it and make it Flip vertical and reduce the opacity as shown in the following figure. To Create an illusion of Shadow.
11)Feel free to play with different setting of layer modes, and Layer Effects.
12)Now add some text to the artwork as shown in the following figure.
13)To finish this tutorial, add your signature at the end of the artwork as shown in the following figure. Feel free to play with different settings.
Additional Information: -
If you play with different settings, you can achieve different results easily. I did following tweaks with the Shape layer and added few effects to get different looks.
