When the year 2000 came around we all had our fears due to rumors of Y2K. Never in a million years did we expect the terror to be in the form of our President. During the candidacy for Presidency between Bush and Kerry many of us did not agree with either of the parties but we had to choose of the two. Many people were unsure who to vote for, psychological studies show that many people vote for a candidate because they are familiar with the persons last name or like Texans because they are from Texas. Who cares what they stand for or how they will affect us as a country.
Whatever party you voted for either time around, as time has progressed many peoples eyes have been opened to the truth of the Bush Administration and if you say you do not see anything wrong with this dictatorship we call an "administration" you most likely just do not want to take responsibility for your part in choosing the Tyrant administration.
In 2000 all registered voters went out and began to vote. Due to over advertising many people voted for the very first time believing their vote really counted. When all was said and done all ballots had been collected. The counting of the ballots had began. Al Gore had won! Or had he? Suddenly, all over the country breaking news erupted on our televisions; due to a "ballot machine problem" anywhere from 1.5 million to 2 million ballots had been lost/misplaced & between 4-6 million votes were overlooked. There was a recount ordered by the Supreme Court and FloridaFlorida. Within no time results were announced. "The next President of the United States is George W. Bush!" Millions of Americans were astonished & the saga continued... became the last to determine who our President would become. At this time Jeb Bush (one of the candidates brother) was governor of
Almost year later on September 11, 2001 two American Airlines planes were high jacked and driven directly into the twin towers in New York. According to sources there was a document that had been circulating the White House previous to this attack. The document had even came across our new Presidents desk. It was a letter written by Bin Laden warning the American people of a plan to high jack two plans and crash them. Why wasn't anything done before we lost so many innocent people? Did anyone take any type of action even to see if it was an idle threat? No. But after the attack our President appeared on television after he had finished doing other important things 1. pretending he could read & 2. reading an upside down book with elementary school kids while their family members fall from the 98th floor of the Twin Towers. The President came on TV promising that we were gonna catch the bastards responsible for this outrageous act. We still have yet to see that happen! He called all troops to the line of duty we were going to war with Iraq! Now Iraq had nothing what so ever to do with the high jacking or the collapsing of the towers but this is who we chose to fight.
For what? An unsettled hatred the Bush's had for Saddam? Bin Laden had now began saying find me!! So why are we still in Iraq today? Who knows? Why is Bush thinking about sending more of our family members into Iraq to continue this Bush-proclaimed war? Did anyone think that maybe these people are fighting us because they don't want us there? If someone comes in your house & shoots at you, if you have a gun you are going to shoot back right? Common sense! If, Saddam is dead now (watch the video) why are we still there & planning to send more troops there? What is our purpose again?
If Bin Laden was the culprit of the terrorist attack why are we hunting Saddam down and taking him to court for trial then allowing him to be hung on video? Do we delight ourselves in the brutal killing of others? Of course he was a murderer & a tyrant who deserved to be punished, but there is a correct way of doing things & if that was the correct way to handle things, what will we do to Bush? It is such idiocy for the government to say we tried to stop the killing of Saddam. Does the government think we are stupid? You mean to tell me you can go in this man's country and dethrone him but u cant stop his killing? Get real! Then only idiots are the ones in the White House. So, where will we draw the line? Is it our responsibility to act as god when a nation is being mistreated? Who will help us? Who are we to say what is good and right for others? Right here in America innocent people are being killed daily in our prisons because the Govenor has denied the appeal and signed off on the execution. Due to the continuous airplay of Sadaam's lynching a young Latino boy hung himself because he was experimenting what he saw on television. Yet the video is still circulating our televisions and internets.
Recently the President passed a bill to do away with the 4th Amendment of the Constitution allowing the government to spy on us by listening to our phone conversations working with AT&T, Verizon, and Bell South. Some American's have been followed, listened to, and questioned by authorities because they were thought to be terrorist or because they used there right of freedom of speech and spoke out against the President. You remember the Dixie Chicks made the comment that they were ashamed to be from the same state as the President and they were banned from the radio for weeks. Where do we live when we can't speak out. Everyone talked about Clinton like a dog but no one was ever punished for their comments and Clinton got us out of deficit. Bush put us right back in the hole (like his dad did) but we can't say anything. He has mad it harder for senior citizens to get medical insurance and denied the right to stem cell research. I don't know about you but I have senior parents and I would like to be able to extend their lives as long as possible. I would hate to see them suffer because of one incompassionate prick!
Then there was Hurricane Katrina! Why did it take the government so long to get out there and help our people? But we can help build a new Iraq!!!??? Bush shows up taking pictures with the victims. I'm so sure these people now homeless, starving, dying, lost & scattered really wanted a picture with him. Children witnessed dead bodies floating up and down the streets of New Orleans and the first thing our President does is takes pictures with the victims. No one was that happy to see Bush & if they did show enthusiasm it was due to the fact they thought he was there to help; but that faded when false promises were made & nothing was done. The soldiers were no better doing a half ass job of searching homes. Marking zero victims when in fact they hadn't even checked the homes. The government knew way before the hurricane hit that there would be extensive damage. Why didn't they evacuate that city before destruction hit? Maybe Kanye West was right. Maybe Bush doesn't like black people. New Orleans is 67% African American. Why not do away with it and clean it up for rich tourist? Buy out all of these people who have lived here for years and make it a predominantly white city. Residents are saying no! They will not move and rightfully so. Over a year later New Orleans is still not clean.
So what lies ahead for us these next two years? Sean Penn along with others have called for the impeachment of Bush, but the Senate says they will not even consider such a thing. How many more lives do we have to loose before anything is done? In this 6 year reign of the Bush Administration just think of all the lives we have lost it is probably equal to or has exceeded the number of deaths caused by Saddam. You do the math! Can anything be done about this or is this country really becoming what we fear? A Dictatorship! Our good "Christian" President has allowed God to be taken out of schools, money, and the pledge of allegiance. All the things we fought so hard for as a nation is being taken from us right under our noses! Are we gonna continue to take this type of abuse from the government? What more needs to be done before we open our eyes? In two years what will our country be degraded to?
