Credibility Requirements
Below are the
requirements that we use to give you a web credibility score on Excellent Guide.
These values are updated once a year or upon request by users or have been
serviced for a credibility rating. Below are how each website credibility is
rated. the points are added based on the requirements. The Scores below are
determined on the merit of if your site has the requirement of not. If a website
has the full requirement, then it gets a 10 for the credibility requirement, if
not, then it gets a 1.
1. About
Us/Company Info Page:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website must have a individual "about us" or "company
information page" that tells the websites objectives. The homepage
is not considered the "about us" or "company info". The homepage is
usually a sales pitch or partial introduction of your company.
Having an "about us" page will allow the website will help further
explain the real people and purpose of the company.

Mission Statement:
Totaling 10 points
Details: This credibility requirement is something new that we think
every website should have. Each website should have a clear mission
statement. It can be on a separate page or on the company
information page. The mission statement should be clearly stated
about what your company hopes to achieve or accomplish.
3.
Displaying Physical Address:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website should have a physical address to the website
in order to receive 10 points. Although all companies don't have one
or choose not to share it; it shows credibility when a website
displays it.
4.
Page Consistency:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website should show page and content consistency in
order to receive 10 points. This is very important. Excellent Guide
looks for consistent webpage layouts, fonts, and colors.
5.
Privacy Policy/Terms and Condition:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website that obtains visitors information in any way
or provides a ecommerce transaction should show a clear privacy
policy and/or terms and condition page to receive 10 points. This is
very important.
6.
Professional Web Design:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website should display a quality design in order to
receive 10 points. Annoying pop ups, low quality templates, large
and bulky images will not be judged as professional. Also Excellent
Guide looks for usability in multiple browsers.
7.
Ease of Navigation:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website should have a clear navigation to allow
users to easily navigate the website. This will result in 10 points.
8.
Phone Number:
Totaling 10 points
Details: By having a contact number on a website; this can increase
its credibility. Each website will receive 10 points for having a
phone number that directs visitors to your business office.
9.
Professional Affiliation:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website should be a member of a third party
organization in order to receive 10 points. A third party
affiliation can be the better business bureau or any establish
association that monitors your credibility. Organization must be
approved by Excellent Guide.
10.
Testimonials/Third-party Evidence:
Totaling 10 points
Details: Each website that sells a product should display
testimonials to back up their product reliability and if a website
does not sell products or a service, the website should include
citations or third party evidence to prove statements that the sites
claims. These options will result in 10 points.
