Web Usability Requirements

Below are the requirements that we use to give you a web usability score on our websites. These values are updated every month.

1. Website Speed/loading time: Your loading time is based on a 28.8 modem

• 8-10 if your load time is less than or equal to 13 seconds
• 6-8 if your load time is less than or equal to 24 seconds
• 4-6 if your load time is less than or equal to 35 seconds
• 2-4 if your load time is less than or equal to 46 seconds
• 0-2 if your load time is greater than 46 seconds

2. Html Check: Your usability rating score is based on the number of html errors  and Warnings found on the your webpage.

• 8-10 if your webpage has no html errors
• 6-8 if your webpage has less than 6 errors
• 2-4 if your webpage has less than 12 errors
• 0-2 if your webpage has greater than 18 errors

3. Meta Tag Check: This usability rating is based on the Title, Keyword, and Description, Meta Tags having an certain number of characters that deem necessary for correct meta tags.

• 8-10 if your webpage has no warnings
• 6-8 if your webpage has 1 warning
• 2-4 if your webpage has 2 warnings
• 0-2 if your webpage has 3 warnings

4. Domain Age: Excellent Guide feels that domain age is important and older sites get more weight than newer sites in the search engine results.

• 10 points if your website is 5 or more years old
• 8 points if your website is 4 years to less than 5
• 6 points if your website is 3 years to less than 4
• 4 points if your website is 2 years to less than 3
• 2 points if your website is 1 years to less than 2
• 1 points if your website is less than 1 years of age

      
5. Link Popularity/page: This usability rating is based on your number of pages or backlinks indexed in Google.

• 10 points if your website has 1000 or more backlinks listed in Google.
• 8 points if your website has 500-999 backlinks listed in Google.
• 6 points if your website has 200-499 backlinks listed in google.
• 4 points if your website has 75-199 backlinks listed in Google.
• 2 points if your website has 20-74 backlinks listed in Google.
• 1 point if your website has 0-19 backlinks listed in Google.
   

6. Link Checking Ratings: This usability rating is based on the number of bad links on your web page.

• 8-10 if your webpage has 0 bad links
• 6-8 if your webpage has 1 bad links
• 4-6 if your webpage has 2 bad links
• 2-4 if your webpage has 3 bad links
• 0-2 if your webpage has greater than 3 bad links

7. Page Rank: Page rank is also important in the top search engine Google.

• 10 points if your website is pagerank 10
• 9 points if your website is pagerank 9
• 8 points if your website is pagerank 8
• 7 points if your website is pagerank 7
• 6 points if your website is pagerank 6
• 5 points if your website is pagerank 5
• 4 points if your website is pagerank 4
• 3 points if your website is pagerank 3
• 2 points if your website is pagerank 2
• 1 points if your website is pagerank 1
• 0 points if your website is pagerank 0

8. Grammar and Spelling: This usability rating is based on the percentage of the misspellings on your web page.

• 8-10 if your webpage has no misspellings
• 6-8 if your webpage has less than 5% misspellings
• 4-6 if your webpage has less than 10% misspellings
• 2-4 if your webpage has less than 15% misspellings
• 0-2 if your webpage has greater than 15% misspellings

9. Alexa Rankings is a number where www.alexa.com has given to websites to determine their estimated traffic.

• 10 points if your website is alexa rankings is 1-1000
• 9 points if your website is alexa rankings is 1001-10,000
• 6 points if your website is alexa rankings is 10,001-50,000
• 4 points if your website is alexa rankings is 50,001-100,000
• 3 points if your website is alexa rankings is 100,001-400,000
• 1 points if your website is alexa rankings is 400,001+
